2 Comforter Storage Bags Compared: Canvas vs Fabric

Two bags with published sizes, side by side. We compare shape, closure and the gaps in each listing, so you can match a bag to your shelf and your comforter before you buy.

In one sentence

Pick by clearance first. The VeraMia canvas bag is listed at 25 × 19 × 9 inches, a low, wide shape for a shelf or underbed gap. The Fixwal fabric bag is listed at 19.7 × 15.6 × 23.6 inches, a taller shape. Neither listing proves your comforter fits, so measure it loosely folded.

What we compared, and what we did not

This page sets two storage bags next to each other: the VeraMia Canvas Soft Storage Bag (beige, 2-pack) and the Fixwal Blanket Storage Bag (120L, grey). Each has an exact Amazon listing we could identify and a published outside size. Two bags is a short list, not a ranking, and we have not tested either one.

We reviewed retrieved copies of both Amazon listings, VeraMia's product information and brand care guidance on October 28, 2026. That tells us what each seller says. It does not tell us how a bag holds up after a season of use, and it does not confirm that a bag is in stock where you live.

For the full routine of cleaning, drying and shelving, read our guide on how to store a comforter.

All sizes are outside sizes from the listings. The room inside a soft bag is smaller, and neither listing is a promise about what fits.

Match the bag to your space

Check the storage space before choosing a bag. A bag that is too tall for an underbed gap will need another home. The listed sizes show how differently these two are built.

Side-view diagram of the VeraMia bag laid flat at 9 inches high, the Fixwal bag on its side at 15.6 inches and standing at 23.6 inches, drawn to one scale
Drawn by us from the outside sizes in the listings, to one scale. It is a schematic, not a photo or a measurement of the real bags.

VeraMia: the low, wide shape

The listing gives three numbers: 25, 19 and 9 inches. The product details identify the 9-inch side as height. Laid on its largest side, the bag is about 9 inches high and covers about 25 × 19 inches of floor or shelf.

That 9-inch figure is the one to hold against the gap under a bed or between two shelves. The listing does not say whether the bag was measured empty or full.

Fixwal: the taller shape

Fixwal lists 19.7 inches long, 15.6 wide and 23.6 high. Standing up, it takes about 19.7 × 15.6 inches of floor and rises 23.6 inches, so it suits a closet floor or a deep shelf with headroom. Laid on its largest side it is 15.6 inches high, still taller than the VeraMia's 9.

The listing also says 120L. That is the seller's label for the bag. We cannot turn it into a promise about how much comforter fits.

A five-minute paper check before you buy

  1. Measure the height, width and depth of the place where the bag will live.
  2. Fold the comforter loosely, the way our fold guide shows, and measure the bundle without pressing it down.
  3. Compare each bundle measurement with the bag's outside size on the matching side. Leave room to spare. Near-equal measurements leave little allowance for seams, the opening and bulging.
  4. Allow for bulging: a filled soft bag may extend beyond its listed dimensions.

Example: an underbed gap of 10 inches leaves 1 inch to spare for a bag listed at 9 inches high. On paper that is almost no margin, so a full bag could stick. The Fixwal on its side, at 15.6 inches, would not go in at all.

We are not saying either bag fits a King comforter. Neither listing gives a folded comforter size, and thick, lofty fills take more room than thin ones. Your own tape measure is the better test. The fold guide shows how to make a bundle that is easy to measure.

Canvas or fabric: what the cloth details tell you

The Company Store advises cool, dry storage with room for air circulation. A fabric bag is not a remedy for damp bedding: dry the comforter fully before packing. A clear panel helps identify the contents without opening the bag.

VeraMia: cotton canvas

VeraMia identifies the canvas as cotton. That is useful if knowing the fiber matters to you. The published fabric weights use different notation, so we do not use them to rank durability.

Fabric weight alone cannot establish how long a zipper, handle or seam will last.

Fixwal: fabric with the fiber unnamed

The listing gives 100 g/m² and calls the fabric breathable, but it does not say what the fabric is made of. We cannot tell whether it is cotton, polyester or a blend, so we cannot compare it with the canvas on fiber. If that matters to you, ask the seller before you buy.

A clear PVC front is plastic. The listing does not say how large that panel is.

Breathable bag or vacuum bag?

A vacuum bag pushes air out to shrink the bundle. A roomy breathable bag allows you to leave the fill uncompressed. They solve different problems: compression reduces volume, while loose storage avoids sustained pressure on the fill. Our how-to-store guide covers the rules in more detail.

If you own a down or wool comforter

Feathered Friends advises storing down comforters uncompressed in a breathable bag. For wool or another fill, follow its own maker's storage instructions; do not assume vacuum packing is suitable.

If you own a resilient synthetic comforter

A vacuum bag can be an option for a short stay, but only when the care label or the maker allows compression. Keep the time short, open the bag early and let the loft recover gradually. The fluffing guide shows how.

See how to fluff a comforter and the vacuum section of our storage guide.

Why this page does not pick a vacuum bag

We looked at a multi-size vacuum set on Amazon but could not confirm who makes it, how big its largest bag is or what the maker says about comforters. Without that, a link would be a guess, so we left it out. If you buy a vacuum bag anyway, check the pump or valve method and the maker's rules for your fill.

What the listings do not tell us

These are gaps in what is published, not verdicts on the bags. We have not tested either one.

  • How much comforter fits inside. The sellers describe King-size capacity, but we have not verified those fit claims. The useful comparison is your own folded bundle against the published dimensions.
  • Whether the nominal dimensions were measured empty or full.
  • How the zipper, seams and handles cope with a heavy load. We make no claim about weight limits, durability or water resistance.
  • How to clean the Fixwal bag; check the supplied care label before washing.
  • Whether a seller has stock and can deliver to you today. Prices change too, so we show none.

Listed outside size:
25 × 19 × 9 in
Shape:
Low and wide when laid flat

Cotton canvas with a zipper, four handles and a clear window. The 9-inch side is the number to hold against a shelf gap or the space under a bed.

Still to confirm: Your folded bundle size, shelf clearance and the care label.

Grey, 1 bag, listed as 120L

Listed outside size:
19.7 L × 15.6 W × 23.6 H in

Frequently asked questions

Is a canvas or a fabric storage bag better for a comforter?

We cannot say one is better, because we have not tested either. The VeraMia is listed as cotton canvas, while the Fixwal listing calls its fabric breathable without naming the fiber. Choose by the space you have and the size of your folded comforter.

Will either bag fit a King comforter?

We cannot confirm it. The sellers make King-size capacity claims that we have not verified. Compare your own folded bundle with the published dimensions. Fold your comforter loosely, measure the bundle and compare it with the listed sizes, leaving room to spare.

Is a vacuum bag a good way to store a comforter?

Check the comforter maker first. Feathered Friends recommends uncompressed storage for down comforters. For synthetic, wool or other fills, use compression only when the maker permits it.

Can I wash these storage bags?

The VeraMia listing specifies cold-water washing and line drying. We could not confirm care instructions for the Fixwal bag. Follow the care label that comes with your bag.

Sources and how we checked

We compared the two bags using their Amazon listings, VeraMia's own product page and a published storage guide. We have not handled or tested either bag. The diagram is our own drawing from the listed outside sizes. Details were checked on October 28, 2026.

The bottom line

Start with your tape measure, not the bag. If your space is low and wide, the VeraMia canvas bag's listed 9-inch side is worth checking. If you have a deep shelf or a closet floor, the taller Fixwal bag may suit better. Store down loosely in a breathable bag, use compression only when your comforter maker permits it, and confirm size, stock and delivery on Amazon before you buy.
